2003 - 2009 & 2011 Ross Elementary received a rating of " Superior " from the State of Delaware based on results of the DSTP!

2009 and 2006 - Ross is named a Delaware Distinguished Title I School

2008 - Ross is named a PBS STAR School! 

2008 - Ross is named a "Superstar in Education" Winner

2004 - Ross Elementary is named a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

2003 - Ross is named a Model of Excellence by Lt. Governor Carney

2003 - 2007 Recipient of Sussex County Elementary School Author Visits - A prize for winning the "Delaware Reads" annual competition. More information is available under special reading events.

2002 - 2005 Recipient of the E2T2 (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant.

1998 - 2007 Ross elementary receives the HOSTS National Exemplary Award.

1993 - Ross is recognized by Redbook Magazine for high quality parent and community involvement.

April 25th, 1974 The Delaware Legislature passed House Bill 667 naming the Ladybug as the Official Delaware Bug. This happened after Mrs. Brown's second grade class campaigned for the Ladybug. 

1957 Ross Elementary opened. The School was named after Lulu M. Ross, a first grade teacher who taught in the Milford School District for 52 years (1898-1950). Ms. Ross taught many important Milfordians including Ruth Ann Minner (Past Governor of Delaware) and Marvin Schelhouse (Active Member of the Milford School Board).
